Hi — I'm Shyam.

I currently lead commercial PC portfolio and technology strategy at HP, working across product architecture, silicon, AI PCs, and critical technologies (e.g., memory, panel, battery) that shape what gets built next.

My path here has crossed engineering, strategy, and finance. I started as a systems architect building distributed systems, working close to the metal where software, operating systems, and hardware meet. I then spent eight years at Deloitte, advising technology companies on M&A and corporate strategy across software, hardware, and semiconductors. I eventually moved back closer to the technology itself — product portfolio and technology strategy at HP.

Outside my day job, I spend much of my time exploring quantum computing and AI. I study quantum information and error correction, experiment with ideas at the intersection of machine learning and quantum systems, and build small projects to understand things that interest me. I have also taught portfolio optimization and quantum computing at Chennai Mathematical Institute.

This site is my working notebook. I write about technology strategy, AI, quantum computing, and anything that piques my interest. Some pieces are polished essays; others are research notes, experiments, or ideas still being worked out.
